Against Our Will, co-written by Antoine Caulliez and Jean Michel Fages, is a powerful exploration of forgiveness, set against the backdrop of World War II. The story follows the intertwined fates of a USAF pilot, deployed to England for D-Day, and one of the 130,000 Alsatians forcibly conscripted into the Nazi army, forced to fight against the very forces striving for liberation. Through this deeply personal and historically resonant narrative, the film examines the enduring scars of war, the weight of duty, and the possibility of reconciliation across generations. The screenplay just received the 2025 Best Feature Screenplay by Chicago Screenwriter Award from The Chicago Script Awards, Best Feature Dram 2025 from New York Script Awards and a selection at the Cannes World Film Festival.
